Start of a New Week

Saturday was my club day and what a great turnout we had!  Really pleased that everyone still coming along each month and supporting the club.  The ladies surprised me with a present on Saturday, a thank you for running the club etc etc.  The present was a lovely set of Prima acrylic stamps that I have been looking at at our local craft shop for months, so ladies if you are reading this, thanks very much its greatly appreciated, keep a look out for some layouts or even cards(!) featuring these stamps.  Although I will have to go get a bigger acrylic block to fit some of them on!!

One of our ladies, Michelle, is a great maker of books and albums and she made a lovely one on Saturday and I persuaded her to make me a mini version, here.Dsc_0120And then I made a couple more yesterday!  Not as good as Michelles but amazing for me!!Dsc_0121

I also did a layout  at the club on Saturday!  Quite unknown for me but i did scraplift it from Traci.Twins

The layout journalling changed somewhat during the afternoon as when some of the ladies saw the photos of me and Lucy they said how alike we were!!!  My hair had gone extra curly and Lucy's winter coat has curled up like crazy.   So the title 'Twins' was suggested!!

Going to leave you with a piccie of the owls that I've been collecting.  The white one on the right was from my friend Judith for my birthday last week.

Second photo is of Day 8 and will add either a small photo or some journalling to this page.

I've also printed out these dates fromDesigner Digitals (by Ali Edwards) and put them in trading card plastic dividers which I cut down to the size of the album (6x6) and will use these as a calendar for the month of December.Dsc_0054

This morning I put together the Jessie Sprague album from downloads available to us today (see previous post) and there will be some more tomorrow.Dsc_0050

Another great free album making idea is here on Heidi Swapp's blog.  Its a free PDF cover and tags etc  called 'Gratitude' which can be used for alot of different style albums.Img_0370

Monday

Fingers crossed all the major firework parties/displays are now over.  Saturday night was very noisy around here and although I upped Lucy's tablets to eight(!!) she was still restless but nothing like last year when she just scrapped up the carpets and tried to hide somewhere, this year she was definitely calmer.  Kimberely went out to her friends for a firework display/party.9thnovember (3)   Kim managed to wrangle a new coat out of her Dad when we went into the city on Saturday which just happened to go with her hat!!

Today the new Jessie Sprague FREE class starts.  Today it was all about printing off the front covers and tabs.  Seems as if its going to be quite a good album to do, all about Family, Self, Roots.  Have done the printing so now going to go cut everything out and start making my 6x6 book.

This weeks its all about meetings at work, meetings at Alex's HIgh School to discuss his 6th Form placements and subjects.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Well I've had a nice  day, got some lovely presents.Watch  Embellishments Owls  The lovely watch was from Kim, the Making Memories suitcase from my scrapping partner, Jane!!  She knows what I like.  The owls were from Alex and the bracelet with the owl bead was from Neil. OwlandBracelet  MomijiIts a poor mans Troll Bracelet!!  But they are some lovely beads etc that I can add to it.  I also got some smellies and vouchers which are great as I can buy things when I need them!

We all went into the city and went to the Waffle House for lunch which was lovely - all that maple syrup!!

Kim has now gone out to a fireworks party and Alex is off out to a fireworks display, Neil is watching rugby and I'm now going to watch Strictly Come Dancing!!!

Friday!!

Not too much going on this week.  Been a miserable week weather wise so not many photos been taken.  Met up with a friend from work who has a spaniel on the way back from an hours walk this week and then did it again with her!  Lucy couldn't believe her luck and I couldn't either when she was shattered for the rest of the day!!

Been working every day this week so doesn't leave much time to do much else.  Mum and Dad took Kim and I into the city yesterday to get my birthday present!!!  My birthday is this Saturday and as Neil and I and the kids are going out for lunch and Mum and Dad are out Saturday evening this was the only time we could fit it in!!  Managed to find some lovely bathroom smellies in Boots that I liked so very pleased with them.  Then we went to Pizza Express in The Forum.DSC_0012    Tried to take some photos but really need to take my tripod, this was the best one.  Looks lovely all lit up at night.  The pizza restaurant is on the first floor and you have a lovely view.

Got some photos to take of a layout or two i've done this week so will do that later today.

Thankfully after tomorrow night the fireworks should all stop.  I can highly recommend these homeopathy tablets that Lucy's has had from the vets they have really worked and calmed her down so much, we havn't had hardly any problems with her with all the fireworks going off around here.

My Sketch World

Here is my layout using November's My Sketch World layout.Fall

Go here Blogthings to find out what your name means!!!  You just type in your first name and it gives you a list of your personality traits.  I liked one paragraph of mine which definitely applies to my scrapbooking!!

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Second Post!

Dsc_0002Dsc_0004Dsc_0003 Made another quick mini book this afternoon!  Had this orange mountboard that I got from our local frame shop months ago which was perfect and added photos I've taken on Autumn over the last few weeks.  I even managed to use my Bind it All properly thanks to a lesson from Jane!!  Didn't add too many embellishments etc as I wanted it to be more about the photos.

Sunday

Well half term is nearly over, back to school for everyone tomorrow, me included!!  Dsc_0027 Lots of walking and taking photos as you can see!!

I've been working on a Countdown to Xmas mini album this week inspired by the idea of Ali Edwards.  Been painting the covers and collating all the Xmassy and red things that I could, printing off things on the computer which seemed to take ages and then cutting it all out.  The idea is that you journal/take photos etc on each day leading upto Xmas Day - 25 days in all.Countdowntoxmascover

This is the nearly finished cover.CountdowntoXmasAnd some of the pages inside.  Will take a picture when its all put together.

Also managed to do this layout yesterday.45foronemoreweek

This layout is using a picture that Kim took this week of me and using a mixture of Jenni Bowlin cardstock and Scenic Route paper.  Journalling is about me still being 45 for one more week!!!  The kids always get my age wrong (intentionally!) and say I've been 45 for years now!!!

Lots of fireworks been going off all week now.  Alot last night as there were alot of displays going on and I know there are loads next Saturday which is why we can't go out for a meal for my birthday next Saturday night as there are two big local  displays going on and we can't leave Lucy on her own as she will go mad.  Saying that though, last night she didn't bat an eyelid when they went off!!    She was very good, were not sure why this sudden change but i hope it continues.

Half Term Week

Well we're half way through half term and its going quickly!  Spent most of it so far still feeling horrible and headachy but this morning feel alot better.  Yesterday Kim and I went into the city to get our hair cut, I had some cut off the length, thinned out and a fringe put back in, Kim went for layers at the front of her hair - hopefully new photos later!!  We also had to take Kim's mobile phone back to Phones 4 U as a bit had fallen off, went in prepared to do battle but the young lady was lovely and has sent it off to be repaired, hopefully for nothing.  We then went to see my Nan as she hasn't been feeling well lately but was quite perky yesterday and Kim has got her knitting her a winter hat!!

Went for a lovely long walk this morning, the sky is a brilliant blue colour after a early frost.Autumntree  Autumnleaves

Have to go and do some ironing now unfortunately and then maybe some scrapping!
